we’re unamerican and so can you

I hate meat, patriotism, sunshine, heat, and (therefore) the Fourth of July.

Performer hates dogs and Halloween.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being Like Totally Unamerican, how unamerican are Performer and I together?

Sunshine I like, so long as I’m not in it. Heat ain’t so great, I agree. But meat and patriotism? C’mon! :-)

so give us a combined ranking!

What, you don’t paint your face and go to sporting events on the 4th? Shock! I’m not a fan of halloween, either (but I have dressed up for it the last two years … I guess I don’t like the ghoulish aspect). I like sunshine and hanging out with friends and drinking (a little) beer or white wine–and 7/04 is a good excuse for that. But I’m hardly American, as I am a Californian and didn’t have turkey for Thanksgiving until aged 23 or so (while living in Prague–go figure!).

No turkey!! that’s shocking — and i’m a vegetarian! but my patriotic feelings kick in once a year and trump my vegetarianism, so i have turkey on thanksgiving. and i do like halloween….some day we must meet and discuss these matters in greater detail than this format allows….come east and i’ll serve you a bottle of 2007 diet coke.

I accept! Perhaps when I am on my book tour. (will first have to conjure wildly successful book out of thin air) I have never been to NYC, which surely rivals both you and Performer for being the most unAmerican quality of all.

why not come in early december for some christmas shopping? whatever, you’ve got to visit. i even have a six-pack of OLD coke (!) from about 1983 that i was going to sell on ebay, but if you come east, i’ll uncork a bottle for you. now that’s a temptation, isn’t it?!

  7. a&v Says:

Alas! This is the busiest time of year for me and my boss is leaving in December which means … lots of work for me. I would love to see NYC in December, though! and that vintage coke sounds enchanting. :)

i’ll uncork ( :) ) it for you Whenever you visit. I’ll have a swig, too.
